Who We Are
Scaretech is a North East-based offshore technology and training company - built by people who know the industry from the inside.
Founded by Terry Christie, with decades of experience across oil, gas, marine and renewables, Scaretech began with a proven offshore mechanical bird deterrent device and is now growing into a multi-division operation. From our base on the River Tyne - with private jetty access and space to grow - we are developing an integrated offshore hub combining technology, specialist services and workforce development. Target operational launch: September 2026.

We are building a modern offshore company from the ground up - combining manufacturing, services and training under one roof, led by a team who have lived and worked in the industry.
Scaretech is designed to grow. Our three divisions - Devices, Services and Academy - allow us to support clients from equipment supply and offshore operations through to skills development and workforce training. We are committed to the long-term future of offshore and renewables, and to building a business that reflects the ambition and experience of the people behind it.

Founded
Terry Christie founded Scaretech with a clear vision: to build a modern offshore technology and training business rooted in real industry experience.
First Device
The first Scaretech mechanical bird deterrent device was developed and deployed offshore, establishing the foundation of the Devices division.
River Tyne
Scaretech secured its operational base on the River Tyne - two industrial riverside units with private jetty access, purpose-built for offshore operations.
Three Divisions
Scaretech formalised its three-division structure: Devices, Services and Academy - enabling clear growth across manufacturing, offshore operations and training.
Renewables
With offshore renewables expanding rapidly, Scaretech positioned itself to support the energy transition with specialist services, training and future-focused workforce development.
Launch 2026
Scaretech targets full operational launch in September 2026 - combining training, engineering, fabrication and offshore support services under one riverside base.
